Karen J. Aroesty

Karen received her BA from Barnard College and her JD from the Washington University School of Law, starting her legal career in public service and then moving to civil rights litigation. She was recruited to serve as Regional Director of the Anti Defamation League Heartland office after years of Board service. Following 20+ years with the ADL, and almost 2 with the Department of Administration for St. Louis County Government,  she founded Aroesty Allied LLC to concentrate on high performing leaders and  positive change management.

She came to this work especially after overseeing the organizational and operational backbone for St. Louis County through its Department of Administration. She spearheaded projects to improve fiscal management, performance management and budget, County Human Resources, procurement and the Minority/Women Business Enterprise program, among others. Centralization, uniformity and efficiency of tasks in all areas was the priority. Developing leaders to create positive impact and successful teams  underscores her interest in long-term change, and she fills her programs with an atmosphere of relentless optimism. 

Positive impact has been at the core of Karen's commitment to improving the region for decades. She is a member of  the US Attorney’s Hate Crimes Task Force for Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois, the St. Louis Sisterhood of Salaam-Shalom,  Compassionate St. Louis, and St. Louis Survivors Legal Support, among others.
